Dubrovnik chess pieces
Dubrovnik chess pieces have significant historical importance, being designed for a chess championship in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in 1950.
This Dubrovnik was the absolute favorite chess design of the great Bobby Fischer. The Dubrovnik chess pieces are known for their sturdy design, and their signature is the Bishops with opposite colored finials, making them immediately recognizable.
Bobby Fischer declared, “The Dubrovnik is the best chess set I have ever played on. It is marvelous.”
The Dubrovnik set is paired here with “The Castle” chessboard, a 4-piece board made of walnut and maple. It is held together with magnets, and can be taken apart and stacked together for a compact size.
All of our chess pieces are carved by hand, and include 2 extra queens in case of pawn promotion. Chess pieces are given a luxurious finish and are completed with a green cloth on their base.
